I use a lot of different programs for my daily structure, some ideas or sometimes for a grocery list. What always drives me crazy is, when an app or programm doesn’t get a dark mode or dark theme. So one of the first things is that I search in the settings how I can change it. Maybe you are also interested in or don’t even know that Notis gets a dark mode.
What is Notion?
Notion is a collaboration platform with improved Markdown support that integrates Kanban boards, tasks, wikis and databases. The software is an all-in-one workspace for taking notes, knowledge and data management, also project and task management.
It is a file management tool that provides a unified workspace where users can comment on ongoing projects, participate in discussions, and receive feedback. In addition to a cross-platform application, it can also be accessed through most internet-browsers.
The software includes a tool to „clip“ content from homepages. Notion supports users schedule tasks, manage files, save documents, set reminders, keep agendas, and organize their different arts of work. Also Notion allows to write and insert equations in block form or inline, because it supports LaTeX (means mathematical forms).
Users can also use Embed.ly to embed online content into their Notion pages. This way, annotations can be typed efficiently in addition to embedded videos playing in PiP mode.
In the future I’ll write a bit more about Notis and give you some tutorials. But today it’s only about the dark mode.
How to activate the dark mode?
It’s a bit tricky to find the option of dark mode. In the past it was really easy to find it, but now they changed the position and you can’t find it that easy (except you know where it is). The screenshots are from the program at my computer, but you’ll find it in the app at the same place.
First you have to open your Notion and go to „Settings & Members“.
That will give you the following view:
There you have to click on „My notifications & settings“.
Maybe you have to scroll down a bit and you will find „My settings“.
You’re close to the dark mode.
At „My settings“ you find this:
Now you can change your theme into dark mode – or if was set in dark mode, back to light mode (I know there are people out there who loves the light mode).
First I didn’t find it again, because the place was in the past much obvious.
I hope I can help you with this. Another day I will show you more about Notion and what you can do with it.
